Yesterday my baby boy turned two. Zero to one year felt like 40 years in the wilderness, one to two, my goodness it just flew by!
Since Josh has had three business trips over the span of a week, we decided against doing a party and he was able to leave Nashville a little early and be back in time to spend the evening with us. I spent the day with Hugo doing some fun birthday things, we picked up balloons and did a fun little photo shoot, then his Auntie Brooke sent him a Starbucks card and so we picked up treats and went to the park. Let me just say, I did an hour-long pilates class that morning and it was easier than spending 20 minutes at the park. Then I came home and made gluten-free confetti cake out of the box and even frosted it with the canned stuff, as much as I love baking, nothing comes close to that wonderful “boxed” flavor. Haha! At the last-minute we called Josh’s brother and sister-in-law to bring tier little guy over for cake and ice cream and ended up having a fun, very low-key birthday. Hugo couldn’t have cared less and played with his toys until bedtime.
Now I have half of a cake sitting on my counter that is begging to be consumed along with another cup of coffee…
I'd love to hear from you, leave a comment below!
