I baked my fourth (and final) batch of cinnamon rolls this morning. I’m waiting on approximately 2 more addresses and then my christmas cards will be completed. I’ve got one half-packed suitcase and about 3 more to go.
Hugo is napping today, after refusing the last 2 days (I had so much to do and this did not help…), so I have a minute. Finalizing a few Christmas plans, hanging out in my leggings with a Hallmark movie playing in the background.
All is well.
I’m at the point in Christmas season where I’m ready to be done. Ready to just be sitting on my couch with Mrs. Claus mug full of coffee, watching my Christmas tree. There are lots of things my list that I needlessly stressed about, and other things that just won’t be done. At the insistence of my Husband, its time for me to put the rest away and just relax (anyone else out there who just has, as the kids say, NO CHILL?)
Okay, a few fun random Christmas-y things:
THE DRINK: We have been drinking this version of a peppermint mocha from Starbucks every day for the last month. It’s from Bri McKoy (who is the cutest person ever on Instagram). Anyway, its a little embarrassing to order, but absolutely worth it! Its much lighter in calories and has a rich coffee flavor from the espresso. It’s amazing!
Here’s what I say to order “grande americano with one pump white mocha, one pump peppermint and topped with heavy cream”
LISTENING: Leslie Odom Jr’s “Simply Christmas” album is one of my favorite’s with it’s peaceful, mellow sound. Lauren Daigle’s “Behold” album has a beautiful, kind of jazzy feel to it. I just rediscovered a random song that used to play on the radio and that makes me tear up every time, its “Celebrate Me Home” and do yourself a favor and play the version by Jennifer Nettles.
WATCHING: Hugo would want me to include the “Grinch”in my little list. The animated one from last year. I have to admit, I love it too. He is obsessed and will tell me several times a day “Mom, the Grinch isn’t very kind” or “Mom, you’re like Cindy Lou Who’s mom”. But I’m currently enjoying “Christmas Town”on Hallmark, its one of their new movies this year and I missed the premiere on TV, a few of my friends said it might be the best of the season, I’d have to agree. It’s precious!
