Wish you were here!
The classic postcard greeting, did you know that josh has sent me a postcard from every city and trip that he’s taken over the past five years? We always use that line, because its true.
Tennessee is beautiful this time of year but I am definitely missing the beach and it’s felt nice/normal to dream up a few vacation ideas for later this year. My list is decidedly summer-themed.
In no particular order…
Seaside, FL
This is our little family’s favorite place on earth. Josh and I have gone to the gulf coast every year we’ve been married and they are truly our favorite memories. We’ve been there enough to feel like we know our way around and there is nothing, NOTHING like that aqua blue water and sand. Out of all the 30A beach towns, Alys Beach and Seaside are our two favorites.
Charleston, South Carolina
I’ve lived and traveled all over the south and still haven’t made it to Charleston. It’s such a beautifully historic city, the idea of planning a luxurious stay at one of their hotels, wearing a pretty sundress while shopping for antiques and eating amazing food, well that sounds pretty good to me.
Plymouth, MA and Nantucket
Josh and I met 11 years ago this summer in Boston. We were there for a history tour (nerds!) My family added on to our trip to do another tour of Plymouth and I just loved it, I think this is where I discovered my love of preppy style. I thought to myself, someday I’ll be back with my own little family… As it turned out, my husband is actually a direct descendant of the Mayflower and this summer will be the 400th year anniversary of its arrival to America. I have no idea if the celebration will even be happening, but its a special place for me. Whenever we go back I’ll be adding a few day trip to Nantucket, since I’ve never been and it’s been on my travel bucket list for a long time.
Paris, France
Our fifth anniversary is next year and there’s no harm in dreaming big! Josh and I have actually been to Paris together, but not “together” and I think it would be such a special anniversary trip to take. Paris is a beautiful city and since we both love history and big cities this would be perfect. I’m so tempted to buy up airline ticket now to use later!
What about you, where would you love to go?
