I have the sweetest little crafty project for you today. These embroidered name sweatshirts are so easy to make for any size and fun to customize with different colors.
I had been seeing name sweatshirts for kids everywhere and thought it would be a good Christmas gift for Hugo’s cousins (at least on my side of the family, we have 32 nieces and nephews total so that would be a LOT of sweatshirts!). They came together quickly and I was really happy with the end result.
Supplies:
Embroidery thread and needle (I used an ombre thread and loved how it looked. Links for PINK and BLUE )
Embroidery hoop
A shirt or sweatshirt (I ordered this one from Amazon it is adorable and $13)
Pencil for tracing
I used my own handwriting and practiced a few times until I got each name the correct size and font. You can also use any digital cursive font and print it out on a sheet of paper with your name and use that to trace over. Place your template inside the shirt, align (along collar, center, chest, whatever you want!) and trace.
I used a chain stitch (if you need an introduction or a refresh, here’s a quick tutorial) to stitch the names.
And done!

Hi Alexis! Thank you so much. Here is the link https://amzn.to/3vHmVFA I included it in the post but I really need to figure out on the backend how to highlight the links so that they can be easily seen. Happy crafting!
