If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to live a day in the life of a producer’s family, here’s your answer. While we rarely have two similar days in a row and our entire day or week can get flipped upside down without notice, I work really hard to keep rhythms and routines that help all of us feel good and healthy.
I love seeing what other people do in a day and I know I will get a kick out of this time capsule of my life during pre-production. We are currently living on a film set while preparing for a new movie. We love living in a town where we have filmed in before so we feel quite at home while we’re here.
This particular day was shot last week, it was a more quiet day than usual and Josh and I had a dinner event that he was hosting for the film that night. But a good day none the less!
A Day in the Life:
6:00am – Wake up and Shower
6:30am – Coffee and Bible Reading
7:00am – Make morning smoothies for Josh and Hugo. Pack extra outfit for Josh for evening event.
7:20am – Family devotions (and another cup of coffee for mom…)
8:00am – Blow dry hair and get dressed for the day.
8:15am – Breakfast: Sourdough toast with cream cheese and everything bagel. Fruit and a grass fed beef stick.
9:00am – Blog work, email, household tasks and various projects.
10:00am – Preschool with Hugo
10:45am – Apparently “P” is for Puzzle too… (snack time!)
11:00am – Blinds are being installed in the house today. Usually I have a few errands to run during the day, but the blinds company scheduled me for a block of time so I kept busy around the house. Lunch time
12:45am – I’m working on a production kit for the back of Josh’s car. Lots of Amazon deliveries!
1:15am – Walk to the mailbox and a very exciting little package was waiting for me!
1:45am – Popcorn and a show with Hugo (very excited about our new popcorn popper!)
3:00pm – Set up guest room for Brooke’s visit this weekend!
3:30pm – An iced Starbucks Cold Brew (my version of pre-gaming) and getting ready for our dinner tonight.
4:30pm – “Making Mac & Cheese in a Jumpsuit” The working title of my autobiography.
5:00pm – Ms. J arrives and I grab my coat to leave. Since I have a drive to the venue, I do a quick touchup on my nails.
5:50pm – I arrive at the hotel and meet Josh and the marketing team
6:30pm – Delicious dinner at Dauphins overlooking the city and Mobile Bay to celebrate the kickoff of filming Jesus Revolution.
10:45pm – Back home to check on my baby and set up the coffee pot for the morning.
11:00pm – Collapse into bed and watch a few minutes of a show before falling asleep.
