June 2022 Favorites
b.Tan ‘Love at First Tan’ Sunless tanner: I feel a whole lot more confident when I’m tanned. I also care a lot about my skin. Sunbathing is one of my favorite pastimes, I have zero time for that these days and love the quick fix of a sunless tanner. I’ve perfected my technique over the years, but this new VERY DARK tanner seems to be foolproof so far. It comes out of the bottle dark purple/brown, but don’t be scared because that means there will be no orange tones. I’ve been using it a few times a week and am loving it!
The London House: Katherine Reay is an author I’ve been reading since her debut (I believe Brooke found her first). This is her newest and it was the best thing I’ve read lately. A modern story of a woman who discovered the truth about her family’s history during WW2. It was a book that I didn’t want to end and I felt sad seeing the page number dwindle. The sister relationship also touched a very tender place in my heart and wrecked me far more than I had anticipated.
Tesla: Josh and I lucked out in the rental car lottery earlier this month and got to drive a Tesla while we were in Orlando for a business trip. Along with everyone else in the universe, we now want one.
Peanut Butter Cookies: I made a batch for the first time in years and I had seriously forgotten how amazing they are. Hugo got such a kick out of the crossed fork shape on the top and then asked if he could take a treat bag over to the neighbors (which I totally went for and made a cute little package with a note for him to deliver because I have a nagging suspicion that he is their Dennis the Menace)
1905 Salad from Columbia’s Restaurant: Top favorite food at one of my top favorite restaurants. Josh and I were in Orlando for one day this month and this was our dinner. It never disappoints. If you’re not near a location in Florida, check out the recipe here.
Chronicles of Narnia: During a power outage that lasted several hours, we pulled up Radio Theatre’s Chronicles of Narnia and all three of us snuggled up, listening while watching the storm outside. It was magical. I get a little weepy when I get the chance to share these precious memories of my own childhood with my son. This story never gets old and there are treasures to unpack no matter how old or how many times you’ve ready before. While we’ve started with the radio drama, I can’t wait for the day he gets to read the books.
Cotton Candy Grapes: They are approximately 10x the cost of regular grapes but we love them so much and they are the first thing eaten out of the fridge. I don’t know how they do it, but these grapes literally taste like cotton candy and they are divine. Watermelon: Every week I buy and cut an entire watermelon that we snack off of. It’s our favorite summer tradition
Wayfair’s Customer Service: We’re currently renovating... Our front door has seen a steady stream of deliveries from Amazon and Wayfair because of it. I cannot say enough good things about Wayfair and how amazing they are with any issues that have popped up with our orders. They have delivered a 350lb cast iron bathtub UP THE STAIRS. Refunded broken items seamlessly and have had funny and personable people on the phone to talk me through the whole process.
P.s. The gold sandals in my photo are Sarah Flint and my promo code SARAHFLINT-BAABBEW gets you $50 off of your first order. Check them out here!
