Well, what is this?

If it’s been a while, you’ll notice I’ve done a little renovating of the place. I’m about 90% done working through a very extensive blog facelift. I am not a graphic designer or a coder, so don’t look too closely. But I am a writer and a freshly minted, newly certified personal stylist and I hope you’ll come back for more in the weeks ahead.

One of the things I’ve been noodling on over the past few months is my blog and what I wanted to do with it. I came up with this cheeky name and after running it past a few trusted friends decided this was the name I wanted to write under. It’s a nod to my husband, film producer extraordinaire, I’ve always wanted the what I write on this blog to be a record of the life we live and an ongoing love letter to him and our son. I also thought it had a bit of an old Hollywood feel to it and love how defining the “THE” feels (The Barefoot Contessa, The Bishop’s Wife, etc.) I fancy myself a modern hybrid of Laura Petrie, June Cleaver, Mary Poppins & Martha Stewart. I know, I know. At least the last two are what Josh often uses to describe me, at my very core I’m a housewife with pretty great style and a solid home cook who loves to make things.

I will continue to write about the things I’m passionate about, food, travel, my fancy homeschool and fashion. Expect so much more fashion and style to come! I have rediscovered this old love of mine and as I am making my way into the styling world I have lots of thoughts, ideas and advice to share.
