A few weeks ago, the three of us flew to LA for the week for the Jesus Revolution premiere. There was such a spirit of anticipation as we waited for this movie to go into theaters. We never would have hoped that it would as big as it has. Jesus Revolution is still in theaters, more locations open this weekend. Get tickets here!
As is our tradition, we always stop at in-n-out burger as soon as we get off the plane. We love getting to share this with our little guy. Since our non-stop nashville to LA flight was full of friends we met up with a few after leaving LAX. After burgers, we ran out to the road to get a few photos with the planes overhead.
I booked an airbnb in Studio City for our time there. It ended up being one of our favorite house rentals to date. It was a 1920’s California bungalow/farmhouse, all warm wood and surrounded by an orchard. We spent so much time in the hot tub! And because the pool heat was finicky, Josh opted to do a polar plunge every morning. While I sipped my coffee. In the hot tub.
We picked and ate so many oranges that I think our vitamin c levels were boosted for a month. Josh celebrated his birthday that week and just wanted a few friends over. I put together a quick party with delicious take out wood fired oven pizzas, salad and brownies.
I’m very much an “old house girl”. I love all of the nooks and crannies. This one had a loft and two bird houses built right into the side of the house.
Final outfit check before heading out to the theater.
It was out of body experience to have a premiere at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood. I wish we’d gotten more photos, but these things move so quickly and sometimes it feels to have my phone out. I really wanted tried my best to take it in.
Mr. Walsh looking like a snack!
Group shot chaos. And can we take a moment for the marketing team who decided to make the red carpet ORANGE?!?
Josh’s brother Ryan joined us and I loved having him there. He hung out with me while Josh was popping around and pointed out all of the TikTok celebrities that I didn’t know. We had a great time!
Lunch was at the museum cafe named “Fanny’s”. Not only do I LOVE museum cafes, but this was named after Fanny Brice from Funny Girl, one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time! Because it was a birthday, we started with a gluten free chocolate cake and french fries, I balanced it all out with an unbelievably good nicoise salad.
