This was my vacation “adrenal cocktail”. Fresh coconut water, orange juice and a some margarita salt on the side. How very resourceful of me! (You can check out my very own adrenal cocktail recipe here!)
What we loved about PGA National Resort:
- Beautiful and peaceful setting. There were a few families that we met at the pool, but because of the golf course, the resort felt quiet during the day.
- And speaking of pool, they have a gorgeous, large pool that we swam in every day.
- The guest rooms are stunning!
- They offer a kids camp during the day. We considered booking Hugo, but our trip was too short to justify. We walked past and it looked like a really great option for the littles.
- There is also a spa on the grounds. Josh went for a haircut and shave and the barber on staff gave him one of the best haircuts of his life!
- When traveling with a little one you get to know the hotel restaurants very quickly. We loved the gluten free wood fired pizza and the lobby coffee shop. Hugo and I are the morning birds, so we would sneak out for coffee (me) and a croissant (him) and sit by the pool overlooking the course and watch the early golfers. Paradise!
- The hotel staff was so kind and welcoming.
- If you’re needing more space, they also have cottages available. 2 bedroom/2 bath and designed by Serena & Lily! I would absolutely book one of these in the future.
Cons:
- This hotel is not on the beach. Honestly we didnt even miss it on this particular trip. The pool was all we needed!
- Breakfast was very crowded at Birdies in the morning. Service was slow and it seemed like the whole hotel arrived at the same time.
- Eating gluten free was a bit of a hit or miss situation. There was a lot of cross contamination at the breakfast spot, but the other restaurants on property seemed more knowledgable. We ordered the wood fired gluten free pizza several times it was great!
