If you have a “classic” in your life and don’t know what to get her for Christmas, well then, today is your lucky day. I have pulled together my own Christmas wish list and have made you a gift guide for classics. While my style falls into several different categories, I am hugely a “Classic”. The things that I am constantly drawn to things that are elegant and stylish, I am always refining my taste and I realize that I can be hard to buy for. Don’t ask my mother or my husband!
I recently read this article about how to buy the perfect gift and as someone who prides herself on being an excellent gift giver, this article was SPOT ON. Follow this advice and you will never go wrong. I find myself wishing for the category of “a nicer version of something than they would buy for themselves” this year and here is my Christmas list (a very dangerous thing to post when my husband is busy, hates to shop and has a previously agreed upon budget this year…)
A Gift Guide for Classics:
Small Gold Letter Charm: I recently spotted this adorable charm from Loeffler Randall and I love how sweet and subtle this one is. The script is just perfect. I’d like the “j” of course.
David Yurman Cable Classics Earrings: Sydney at Summer Wind posted THESE EARRINGS a few weeks ago and I can’t stop thinking about them. I’m not even a hoop earring girl, but these are just so beautiful and fun. I might try to find a similar pair to see if I actually wear them before buying th DY version. I love these ROPE TWIST EARRINGS and CROISSANT HOOP EARRINGS (at amazing price points too!)
Non Slip Yoga Mat: I love heated studio classes at our gym, even more so in the winter. I always use the mats they provide, but I will see the other girls come in with the fancy mats and towels and halfway through the class it makes sense as I’m slipping all over the place. I love this NON SLIP MAT.
Drinking Glasses: A very grown up Christmas gift, but we’ve lost a ton of drinking glasses and the cabinet is feeling very mismatched at the moment. A set of these would be just the thing to make me feel like I have my life together.
Headphones: I am very much NOT into technology, and I can’t remember the last time I even used headphones, but I was thinking that I’d love a chic pair to wear at the gym. I don’t need anything too fancy, and I would love a wired pair (I know…) but I was looking at THESE in the meantime.
Kindle: I have read so many books since I switched to using Libby on the iPad. There has been some eyestrain involved, but it has been a game changer overall. I have heard so many good things about the kindle and I think it would be especially lightweight for travel.
Non Slip Socks: See “Non Slip Yoga Mat” above… Cute pink socks.
Southern Living Subscription: I subscribed to SL mag for year, but let it lapse when we were living on set. I would love this and an Architectural Digest subscription too!
Cookbook – Coffee Table Book – I love to cook and collect cookbooks so I’m not picky when it comes to anything in this category. I would love the new Gwyneth Paltrow cookbook and Life in a French Country House book looks like a dream. And speaking of GP, anything from the goop skincare line is welcome in my stocking.
Gift Guide for Classics: misc:
I have mentioned this before, but I think since becoming a mother my love language has become “acts of service”. As someone who is naturally inclined to be a giver and a nurturer, it means so very much to me to have someone serve and take care of details for me. Josh does this in so many ways for me, paying bills, making annoying calls, picking up groceries, etc. But if you need a gift for someone who is in a similar season of life, here are a few suggestions (and things that I would love to receive too!)
The gift of CLEAN! I feel like the house is hard to keep up with during the holidays so things like a professional window cleaning, a car detail or a post-Christmas house deep cleaning would be the best gift ever!
Free babysitting: Just a few hours so that I can run errands and do all those things that feel impossible to do with kids.
A coffee and pastry delivery: Either on the doorstep or via UberEats, a wonderful way to let someone know you’re thinking of them.
I'd love to hear from you, leave a comment below!
