Our trip to Botanica Luxury Cottages on Grand Cayman Island.
Grand Cayman Family Travel – Where to stay:
I recently wrote a post about family trip to Grand Cayman and wanted to give a little more detail to where we stayed. I am usually the travel planner but this trip was ALL Josh Walsh. He get the credit for finding this place and booking it as a surprise! Botanica Luxury Cottages looked almost too good to be true and when we arrived we were completely blown away with the amenities, thoughtfulness and design.
Botanica Luxury Cottages Review: The Interiors
The beautiful white cottages are built like duplexes, sharing a wall, but with their own entrances and private gardens. We never ran into or heard our neighbors while we were staying there.
The interior of our cottage was perfectly coastal, bright and calming. Natural linen fabrics, chic decor and high end finishes. The cottage had a washer/dryer, cooler box, Business and Pleasure beach umbrella, robes, and a fully stocked kitchen, We loved making a french press coffee each morning and enjoying it in the garden. They also provided a giant straw beach tote that we took with us everywhere, it was so nice to not have to pack such a bulky item in my luggage.
Botanica Luxury Cottages Review: Exteriors and Amenities
Each cottage is surrounded in gardens, the entire time you feel as if you’re in a jungle (in the best way possible!) It was just a few minute walk for us to the main office and pool. We spent most of our days in the pool and hot tub, our vacation rhythm is usually mornings at the beach, lunch and then the pool for the rest of the day.
We also met the other guests and they were all exceptionally nice people, one of them was an obstetrician who worked at the hospital where Josh’s bother was born, same year! And another sweet family that we hit it off with so well that I brought in cake and ice cream and we celebrated Hugo’s birthday together.
One of the cottages has a private pool and room for more guests or a larger family, I could definitely be swayed to book that next time, but we loved socializing with new friends at the main pool.
We loved every minute of our stay and would wholeheartedly recommend this spot to anyone traveling to Grand Cayman. We felt very pampered and taken care of here, every detail was thought of ahead of time. It was the perfect place to just relax and have fun as a family.
What we loved about Botanica Luxury Cottages:
- Beautiful furnishings and thoughtful design.
- Robes! They even provided a kid sized robe for Hugo!
- Beach toys and gear, snorkels, bikes and more. All provided for you!
- Grown Alchemist products in the bathrooms
- Our cottage was pristine, perfectly cleaned and housekeeping came once to refresh everything. We could also stop by the office if we needed anything restocked.
- They also provide baby beds, highchairs, etc.
- French press coffee AND a keurig, WE LOVE OPTIONS!
- All paper products, dish soap, etc are provided.
- Outdoor showers! Perfect for rinsing off sandy feet.
Some things to consider:
- The cottages are not on the water. It is a 3-5 minute drive or 15 minute walk to the beach from where you are staying. Unless staying at a resort, I highly recommend renting a car.
- There are no restaurants on the property. You are able to order delivery or pick up groceries and Botanica offers beautiful grazing boxes or grocery deliveries to your door.
