After spending several days in the Cotswolds, it was time for Josh and I to travel back to London. Our reason for travel was to attend the international premiere of Unsung Hero. This was our first time traveling internationally for a film and felt like a continuation of the Unsung Hero party!
It was a beautiful wrap out of Unsung Hero. Our little movie that could is now on DVD and streaming and has been seen and loved by so many of you. It means the world to us. Thank you.
We stayed in Piccadilly and were right next to Leicester Square Park. It’s surrounded by statues from famous films. On one of our early morning jetlagged walks around town, we stopped by to say hello to Mary Poppins. And good old Paddington Bear, of course.
My requests for London were to watch Wicked, to visit Liberty of London and The Churchill War Rooms (my favorite museum in the world!). I’m happy to report that we did all three! And I was able to squeeze in an afternoon tea as well.
And away… Oxford
As a last minute addition, our friend was able to arrange a quick trip to Oxford for all of us. Josh and I had been a few days before and it had just been one of those travel days where everything felt off. This was a completely redemptive day in Oxford! We had our own unofficial tour guide who felt like a friend by the time we left. We had the best day walking all over town and in the end counted over 25,000 steps!
As a group, we are all pretty big C.S. Lewis fans and so we were able to see some of his favorite places around Oxford (Magdelen College is pictured above), we saw the path that he and Tolkien would talk and argue along as they walked.
On a gluten free note: Hobson’s Fish and Chips had dedicated gluten free fryers for their fish and chips and it was just pure delight.
And there you have it, after 10 days of traveling through England, we ended with a shopping bag full of Paddington Bear gear for our little guy and we hopped back on the plane to home.
I'd love to hear from you, leave a comment below!
