I’ve been seeing colorful pearl and bead necklaces everywhere lately. After gathering some inspiration via Pinterest, I decided to dust off an old hobby of mine, beading, and try making a few of my own. (You know how I love my crafting!)
DIY Colorful Pearl and Bead Necklaces
I began where most successful crafting sessions do, with a trip to Hobby Lobby! They have so many fun novelty beads as well as different size pearls, bead and supplies. If you aren’t in the mood for the craft store, this, this and this all look like great bead kits to get you started.
I made the first one with small pearl beads and colorful glass seed beads on stretch string for a very simple necklace.
For the heart necklace, I used glass heart shaped beads from Hobby Lobby (they came in a set with all the colors) and then larger pearls for half of the necklace. I tied off each bead after my first version broke due to weight. Using a colorful cord and hand tying is the way to go. I also used a silver toggle to close.
