I recently put together the cutest constellation play dough kit. I get such a kick out of play dough kits (see my Valentine’s Day kit here) and this was fun to pick out and assemble. This constellation theme is educational too thanks to the inclusion of these beautiful printable flashcards from Little Radish Shop on Etsy.
The idea was that you roll out the dough and use the little gems and stars to make the constellation shapes. I went to Hobby Lobby and looked through all of the Christmas theme craft kits. They had to foam stars, gems, and glitter, and more. I sorted them into our play dough kit box (I have a plastic one from Hobby Lobby, but have used these to make kits for my nieces.) One of my mom hacks is to stock up on the multi packs of play dough (the mini size or regular) and only dole them out in small amounts. I find that it lasts a lot longer and we don’t end up with weird colored dried up dough.

Just to make things difficult, I custom mixed the colors and added my own glitter. Hugo was unimpressed but I thought it made a great galaxy color palette. I used blue and black and then made black and navy glitter as my 4 colors.
All wrapped up and ready to go! This makes a great sensory or homeschool tool and would be wonderful for gifting.
